Know the Rules for Your Move in Qatar
A single national system: a Commercial Registration from MOCI, plus a land transport licence, vehicle operating cards and mandatory insurance from the Ministry of Transport for companies that carry goods by road.
Before you rely on this
Qatar licenses movers through a single national system. A company first needs a Commercial Registration (CR) from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI). A company that carries goods by road also needs a land transport licence and an operating card for each vehicle from the Ministry of Transport (MOT), and must hold vehicle and third-party liability insurance. That insurance does not by itself cover your household goods, so ask any mover in writing what protection it offers for your belongings. Always confirm current requirements directly before hiring a mover.
What kind of question is it?
Commercial Registration from MOCI; for a mover running its own trucks, a land transport licence and per-vehicle operating cards from MOT and vehicle registration with the General Directorate of Traffic; and an MOT land cargo broker licence where a mover arranges road transport through other carriers in its own name as a land cargo broker.
Qatar →Licensed land transport operators must hold insurance covering the vehicle, drivers, passengers and third parties. No law requiring movers to insure customers’ goods in transit was found, so cover for your belongings depends on the mover’s own terms.
