Know the Rules for Your Move in Finland
A tiered goods transport licensing system from Traficom for companies operating goods vehicles, with a current EU sanctions-compliance condition built directly into the licensing process.
Before you rely on this
Finland licenses goods transport through Traficom (the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency), with requirements tiered by vehicle weight and applying to the company operating the vehicles: no licence needed at 2 tonnes or less, a lighter notification or “light goods transport licence” for vehicles between 2.5 and 3.5 tonnes, and a full goods transport licence for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes. As of 2024, Traficom will not grant a goods transport licence to any operator with more than 25% Russian or Belarusian ownership, under EU sanctions requirements. Always confirm current requirements directly before hiring a mover.
What kind of question is it?
