Know the Rules for Your Move in Singapore
Singapore is a single city-state, so there’s no regional split the way Canada, the US, or the UAE require, but the underlying regulatory model is different from anywhere else built so far.
Before you rely on this
Unlike Germany, France, the UK, or the US, Singapore does not run a company-level “goods transport operator” licensing regime: there’s no repute, financial-standing or professional-competence test for the business itself. Instead, the framework centers on standard business registration (ACRA) plus, for a mover that operates its own vehicles, vehicle-level registration and licensing through the Land Transport Authority (LTA), including Singapore’s distinctive Certificate of Entitlement (COE) quota system that applies to every vehicle, goods vehicles included. Always confirm current requirements directly before hiring a mover.
What kind of question is it?
Standard ACRA business registration. No moving- or goods-transport-specific operator licence exists the way it does in the EU.
