Know the Rules for Your Move in Mexico
A single federal permit for movers that operate their own trucks, issued for an indefinite term but tied directly to a separate tax authority’s documentation requirement.
Before you rely on this
Mexico does not license movers state-by-state for federal road transport. The Permiso de Autotransporte Federal de Carga is issued nationally by the Secretaría de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes (SICT, formerly SCT) to the company operating the trucks. Unlike most countries in this project, the permit itself doesn’t expire on a fixed renewal cycle, but a mover still needs to actively maintain several linked requirements to keep operating legally. Always confirm current requirements directly before hiring a mover.
