Know the Rules for Your Move in Greece
The standard EU licensing framework, with a national authorisation that isn’t split by vehicle weight, unlike some neighboring EU countries.
Before you rely on this
Greece licenses road haulage under the same EU Regulation 1071/2009 framework used across the EU. The authorisation to engage in the occupation of road haulage operator, issued by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to the company operating the vehicles, applies to vehicles of any Maximum Permissible Laden Weight: Greece doesn’t carve out a separate lighter-vehicle tier the way some other EU countries do. Where a mover subcontracts the transport, the carrier performing it holds the authorisation. Always confirm current requirements directly before hiring a mover.
