Know the Rules for Your Move in Dominican Republic
Registration of the cargo operator and every truck with the national transport authority, INTRANT, under the Cargo Transport Regulation, plus compulsory liability insurance.
Before you rely on this
The Dominican Republic regulates the carriage of goods by road through the Instituto Nacional de Tránsito y Transporte Terrestre (INTRANT), the national land transport and traffic authority. Under Law 63-17 and the Cargo Transport Regulation (Decree 258-20), a company that operates trucks to carry goods must register as a cargo transport operator with INTRANT, register each truck, and hold civil liability insurance. The rules apply to the company that operates the trucks, so a mover that subcontracts its trucking depends on its carrier holding them. No foreign ownership restriction on cargo transport was found. Always confirm current requirements directly before hiring a mover.
