Know the Rules for Your Move in Czechia
Road transport is licensed as a concessioned trade: a distinctive administrative mechanism where transport authorization flows through Czechia’s general trade licensing system rather than a dedicated transport-specific licensing body.
Before you rely on this
Czechia licenses commercial road transport as a “koncese” (concessioned trade) under the Trade Licensing Act, applied for through the local trade licensing office (živnostenský úřad) and governed by conditions set under the Road Transport Act. The concession is held by the company operating the vehicles; a mover that subcontracts the driving relies on its carrier’s concession. This is a genuinely different administrative mechanism from most other countries in this project, where a dedicated transport authority issues the licence directly. Always confirm current requirements directly before hiring a mover.
