Chile does not license the business of carrying goods by road within the country. The national transport regulation states that companies providing domestic freight services do not need authorization from the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications (MTT). Instead, compliance rests on the vehicles and drivers: registered trucks, regular technical inspections, compulsory accident insurance, and professional driving licences. Moves by road into neighboring countries are different: the company operating the trucks needs an international transport permit from the MTT. Always confirm current requirements directly before hiring a mover.
