Know the Rules for Your Move in Republic of the Congo
A recent (October 2025) reform of the road transporter approval system, from the Directorate General of Land Transport, and a confirmed legal gap in comprehensive consumer protection.
Before you rely on this
The Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville, distinct from its larger neighbor, the Democratic Republic of the Congo) regulates road transport through the Direction Générale des Transports Terrestres (DGTT), under the Ministry of Transport, Civil Aviation and Merchant Marine. As of October 2025, the DGTT reformed the “agrément” (approval) system for road transporters and related professions. The agrément is now valid for 5 years with renewal, and existing operators had a compliance deadline of 30 October 2025. Always confirm current requirements directly before hiring a mover.
