Know the Rules for Your Move in Ecuador
Business registration (RUC) and, for the company’s own trucks, standard vehicle matriculación are the core requirements for a moving company. The ANT operating permit applies to transportation companies specifically, a distinct business classification Ecuadorian movers are not part of.
Before you rely on this
Ecuador’s core requirements for a moving company are RUC tax registration with the SRI (plus corporate registration through the Superintendencia de Compañías and Registro Mercantil, if applicable) and standard annual vehicle matriculación for the company’s own trucks. The ANT Permiso de Operación for heavy cargo transport is a separate authorization for companies classified as transportation companies. Ecuadorian moving companies are not part of that category, and hire already-authorized transportation companies rather than holding this permit themselves. Always confirm current requirements directly before hiring a mover.
What kind of question is it?
RUC tax registration with the SRI, plus standard vehicle matriculación for the company’s own trucks, not a transport-company operating permit.
