Know the Rules for Your Move in Poland
The standard EU licensing framework, administered through a digital client portal.
Before you rely on this
Poland licenses movers under the same EU Regulation 1071/2009 framework used across the EU. A domestic authorization (zezwolenie na wykonywanie zawodu przewoźnika drogowego) is issued by the local Starosta (county authority) or GITD (Główny Inspektorat Transportu Drogowego, the General Inspectorate of Road Transport); a Community Licence (licencja wspólnotowa) for EU-wide work is issued by GITD and automatically also covers domestic transport. These are held by the company operating the vehicles; where a mover subcontracts transport, the carrier holds them. Always confirm current requirements directly before hiring a mover.
What kind of question is it?
A zezwolenie (domestic authorization) or licencja wspólnotowa (Community Licence), requiring good repute, financial standing, professional competence, and a real establishment, where the mover operates its own vehicles.
Poland →UOKiK (the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection), with free municipal and county consumer ombudsmen and amicable arbitration courts.
Covered within the Poland pageThe licencja wspólnotowa already covers EU-wide transport. CMR excludes furniture removal, so Poland’s general Civil Code carriage rules are likely to apply instead (not confirmed).
