Know the Rules for Your Move in Myanmar

A single national licensing framework in principle, but this is one of the least stable regulatory environments covered in this project, and the material here needs more direct, current verification than most other countries.

Before you rely on this

Myanmar’s road transport licensing runs through the Road Transport Administration Department (RTAD), under whichever ministry currently holds the transport portfolio. That structure has changed repeatedly in recent years, most recently with a Ministry of Transport reconstituted in April 2026. Consumer protection, by contrast, is genuinely well-documented and stable: a real national law, a real complaint infrastructure, and 48 regional centers. Given the pace of institutional change here, treat every regulator name and department structure on this page as needing a fresh check before relying on it, more so than for any other country in this project.
